Kent Police Benevolent Fund

The Object of the Fund is to provide financial assistance to serving or retired police officers of the Kent Police, their dependants, and to any other persons at the discretion of the Management Committee.

Grants and Loans

Retirement Grant
Paid on retirement, this Grant is currently £50

Loans
The Committee makes loans on welfare grounds on such terms or conditions as it sees fit.

Death Grant
This Grant is currently £1,250, and is normally payable of the death of the member or his or her spouse, whichever is the first to die. By arrangement with the administrator, it can be paid on the death of the second.

Convalescence
The Management committee will pay travelling and out of pocket expenses for members who attend the Rehabilitation centre for Convalescence [Flint House, Goring]

Medical Consultations
A grant or loan may be paid to enable a member, spouse or child under 18 years to enable them to seek private medical assistance where assistance is not reasonably readily available under the NHS.


General Charitable Grants
Charitable or compassion grants may be made at the discretion of the Management Committee. Currently grants up to £350 are made without detailed financial information being provided by the applicant. Applications in excess of this amount will not be granted without detailed financial information and such application will almost always be supported by a comprehensive report. NARPO Members can obtain the assistance of their local committee member or the Branch Secretary or Chairman
