Hi Kent is a local charity supporting the deaf and hard of hearing. There is an online shop, a display of aids etc to try at their centre at 46 Northgate Canterbury CT1 1BE and at Park Mall Ashford.
In conjunction with Social Services they can arrange for the provision, often on free loan, of equipment and much more. Phone 01227 760046

Police Dependants Trust

Established in 1966, the Trust provides assistance in cases of officers, or former police officers who have died, or dies as a result of injury received in the execution of their duty, and Police officers, or former police officers, who are or have been incapacitated as a result of an injury received in the course of their duties.

CROP
Citizens Rights for Older People is a charity that provides a free confidential lay advocacy service, an advocate being one who pleads, intercedes, or speaks for another. CROP is supported by the Kent County Council, East Kent Health Authority and Maidstone Borough Council.

Kent Benefits Partnership

The Kent Benefits Partnership is a service provided by the councils in Kent to ensure that pensioners only pay the council tax due and no more. Up to March 2005 more than 1000 pensioners have received, on average, overpaid tax of £700.

Members could be paying too much if they pay council tax AND claim a state pension AND have less than £16,000 in savings.
